The Lost HERstory:
During the BCE era, Temples were devoted to different personifications of the goddess. In many of these civilizations, women who chose the path of priestess lived in Temples and partook in different rituals to honor and offer to the goddess. Many of these rituals involved engaging in pleasurable sexual rites. The priestesses were awakened to the power of their sexual energy for creation and manifestation, utilizing this energy to amplify their prayers.
These priestesses were highly trained in the healing power of their feminine nature and form, and knew that their sexual energy was a part of the healing arts. They would pray in ritual to for the collective, specifically to heal and support both the Earth and their communities.
It was highly revered for royal and common men to come and sensually engage with the priestess as an act of holy communion with the goddess. This practice dates back to Ancient Mesopotamia, the oldest known civilization. Ishtar, Isis, Inanna, Ashtare, Asherah, Aphrodite, Hecate...these are just a few of the goddesses honored through sensual ritual.
In these temples, sexual activities were seen as a devotional act. They were treated with reverence, importance, and respect. In some cultures, common men could come to be healed by women through sexual and energetic transmissions. In other cultures, the practices were cultivated by priestesses and shared only with royalty, especially for initiation into leadership and coming of age ceremonies. At times throughout history the high priestess, or leader of the priestesses, was viewed as a mystical seer and divined information for the community while in sexual trance states. In many ancient civilizations, the temple priestesses held special sexual rituals on the new and full moon in honor of their goddess and divine wisdom for the moon cycle to come.
In this time, women lived and thrived in devotional sisterhood. They knew the healing powers of their touch and the healing power of pleasure. These women knew they were conduits of divine energy. They carried the wisdom, intuition, and divination of ascended beings. In their rituals, they easily entered trance states where they were able to connect to higher wisdom.
As polytheistic worship became forbidden in favor of monotheism’s view of a singular male god, the truth of these temples became desecrated and distorted. Sex and Spirit became sinful to combine unless it was to procreate. As it became illegal to worship female goddesses in any way, the sacred practices of the Temple Priestess were diluted and lost. The image painted in history is of godless prostitution, when in fact it was exactly the opposite. Yet, over time this became the narrative and the practice. This is where brothel’s originated from, and also feminine monasteries.
Practices that were once viewed as sacred became profane. To this day, sexuality is demonized in many modern religions. I believe this is because, when channeled, this energy leads to self-actualization. One discovers how to self-source energy and becomes awakened to the universal law of oneness...that there is no separation between the perceived god/goddess and themselves. This is simply an illusion, and thus they too have the power to create their reality.
Modern religion and social structure are dependent on you being reliant on their system. If you reach self-actualization, you will know that you do not need the system, and thus the system fails. Demonizing your gifts is a weapon of mass control. I am here to awaken you to your gifts so you can vibrate your truth and love out to the world, and allow for the mass awakening of consciousness.
The Revival:
I believe that one of the missing links in our society today is the separation of sex and spirit. I am calling forward women who see their sensuality as divine, and want to awaken their ancient remembrance of temple arts and rituals. We are not in the time of needing to serve any man who knocks on the temple doors, nor are we offering ourselves to the known leaders. This is a time of awakening the innate magic in our day-to-day relationships with those whom we have consensually chosen to share ourselves with.
I envision a global community of women who are tapped into the ancient remembrance of their gifts as sensually embodied women, who see their sensuality as a path to ascension. Women who are able to activate their sensual energy and sexual experiences to...commune with the divine, channel their energy towards healing, receive divine insight, manifest the reality they desire, and transmute pain and fear for themselves and the collective.
We have only scratched the surface of realizing what we can create with our sexual energy. I believe that this remembrance will activate our ability to ascend to a higher octave of experience on a collective scale.
